About this procedure
Keyhole surgery to rebuild a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the knee using a graft, most often taken from the patient’s own hamstring or patellar tendon. The graft is fixed into tunnels drilled in the bone.
How treatment is planned
What is actually done depends on your diagnosis, your scans and reports, and your general health — two people with the same diagnosis are not always offered the same operation. The plan is set by the treating consultant after reviewing your case, not before.
