About this procedure
The damaged ankle joint surfaces are replaced with an implant, as an alternative to fusing the joint. It aims to preserve movement at the ankle rather than eliminate it.
How treatment is planned
What is actually done depends on your diagnosis, your scans and reports, and your general health — two people with the same diagnosis are not always offered the same operation. The plan is set by the treating consultant after reviewing your case, not before.
